Grok Bot iOS is xAI's Grok Bot app on the App Store, and it needs an iPhone on iOS 18 or later or an iPad on iPadOS 18 or later. It connects to the same Bots, chats, routines and cloud computer you use on desktop. The iPhone version also gets extras Android doesn't: Siri and Shortcuts actions, Live Activities, the Action Button, a full share sheet, and control of Reminders and Apple Home.

Grok Bot iOS requirements
xAI's mobile docs list three things you need:
- An iPhone with iOS 18 or later. The same app runs on iPad with iPadOS 18 or later.
- An eligible plan: Premium, Super or Ultra on The X Subscription, a legacy paid Cursor plan, or a linked SuperGrok or X Premium+ subscription.
- An internet connection.
There's one catch for alarms. xAI's docs say alarms and timers on iPhone need a newer version of iOS than Grok Bot itself requires. If your iPhone can't set them, Alarms doesn't appear in the app's list of phone apps.

Install Grok Bot from the App Store and sign in
- Open the App Store on your iPhone or iPad and get Grok Bot (xAI's docs link to app id 6794501026).
- Open the app and choose Log In or Sign Up.
- Finish authentication in the browser with the same account you use on desktop. There's no separate Grok Bot login.
- If your access comes from SuperGrok or X Premium+, choose Link Grok Account, sign in to Grok, then choose Finished Linking? Refresh My Status. A link you made on desktop also works on the phone.
New users get a short tour, pick a first Bot, and wait while the shared computer is set up. Existing users land on their synced Bot list.
App Store billing
If your plan already includes Grok Bot, xAI's docs say you should not buy a second subscription through Apple. If you do subscribe in the app, only monthly individual plans are offered. Apple handles in-app subscriptions, including store free trials. Cancel or change the plan in your Apple ID under Subscriptions before a trial ends if you don't want it to convert.
xAI's App Store page adds a warning. If you paid for Cursor through the App Store and then switch to The X Subscription on the web, xAI can't cancel or refund the Apple subscription. You cancel it in your iPhone or iPad Settings, or Apple keeps billing you.

Grok Bot on iPhone: Siri, Shortcuts and Live Activities
This is where the iPhone app pulls ahead. xAI's docs say Grok Bot adds four shortcuts you can run from Siri, Spotlight or the Shortcuts app:
- List Bots
- Send Message
- Start Dictation
- Start Voice Chat
Say "Send a message in Grok Bot" and Siri runs it. Start Dictation lets you dictate a message to a Bot without opening the app, as long as the iPhone is unlocked. While it runs, a Live Activity on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island shows progress, with buttons to cancel or send. A voice chat shows a Live Activity too.
Use the Action Button to talk to a Bot
On an iPhone with an Action Button, you can press it to start a voice chat with a Bot:
- Open your iPhone's Settings and choose Action Button.
- Swipe to Shortcut.
- Choose Grok Bot, then Start Voice Chat.
If you don't pick a Bot for the shortcut, Grok Bot asks which one. Press the button again while you're on the line to hang up.

Share photos, files and links from any iPhone app
On iPhone, the system share sheet sends a photo, file, link or text into a Grok Bot chat. Choose Grok Bot, pick a chat, then choose Attach. The item lands in that chat's composer so you can add instructions before you send.
That's useful for quick jobs. Share an invoice photo into a bookkeeping Bot. Share a link into a research Bot. Share a PDF into a Bot that drafts replies. xAI's docs suggest telling the Bot what each attachment is and how to use it.
Inside a chat you can also dictate, start a voice chat, play a voice memo a Bot sent, take or attach a photo, mention another Bot, reply in a thread and react. When a Bot prepares an email or Slack message, you can edit the draft and choose Send or Discard. For email workflows, see Grok Bot email.

Reminders, Home and other iPhone apps a Bot can use
A Bot can use some apps on your iPhone when you ask, in your own chat with a Bot you own. It doesn't work in group chats, in Slack, or with someone else's shared Bot. Grok Bot must be open on the phone while the Bot works.
On iPhone and Android, the Bot can use Calendar, Contacts (read only), Location (a position, not an address) and Alarms (up to 24 hours ahead). On iPhone only, xAI's docs add two more:
- Reminders: read reminders, and add, change, check off or delete them. New ones go in your default list unless you name another.
- Home: read your Apple Home accessories and change them, such as lights, fans, blinds, thermostats, locks, garage doors and security systems.
To grant access ahead of time, open Settings, then Connect apps, and choose iPhone or iPad. Your apps show under This iPhone or This iPad as Allow, Allowed or Denied. If you haven't allowed an app, the Bot shows a Grok Bot needs permission card the first time and waits up to five minutes for you.
Locks, garage doors and security systems follow the same approval rules as other Home changes. With Auto Review on, it checks each use and can stop to ask. If your team admin set a limit, it shows under Tools on this device.
Grok Bot iOS notifications
The iPhone app asks for notification permission on first run. Both the iOS permission and the Bot's own setting must allow a notification. xAI's docs also say push delivery on iPhone is rolling out gradually, so some users may not get pushes yet.
To mute one Bot, tap its name at the top of its chat and turn off Notifications. To mute all of them, turn off Notifications in the app's Settings. If iOS says Notifications are off, choose Open Settings to allow them again.
If you also run the desktop app on a Mac or Windows PC, notifications from your own Bots go there while you're using it. Your iPhone hears about a question about 3 minutes later unless you open that Bot first. See Grok Bot Mac for the desktop side.
What the iPhone app leaves to Grok Bot desktop
The iPhone app watches and controls the cloud computer, but some jobs need the desktop app: teaching a workflow by demonstration, testing a routine, renaming a page, and updating or recovering the computer. From the phone you can still view routines, pause them with Active, and ask the Bot to edit them. See Grok Bot routines.
