The way how to learn more about AI agents works once you know the basics is simple: stop watching intro videos and start learning the advanced pieces one at a time, by building them into an agent you already use every day. That means memory, MCP servers, subagents, scheduled jobs, browser automation, sandboxing and model testing.

This guide is for people who are past the beginner stage. You already know what an agent is. You have installed one. Now you want to go deeper without wasting months on content that repeats what you already know.

If you want the full roadmap, the courses and people to help when you get stuck, the AI Profit Boardroom is where I teach all of this step by step. More on that below.

Signs You're Past the Beginner Stage

A lot of people keep doing beginner courses long after they need them. Here's how to tell you've moved on:

If most of those are true, you're ready for the next layer. If they're not, start with my guide on how to learn AI agents first, then come back here.

How to Learn More About AI Agents: The Advanced Topics to Learn Next

Here's the order I'd learn things in. Each one builds on the one before. Don't try to learn all seven in a week. Pick one, build it into your setup, use it for real, then move on.

1. Memory providers

Out of the box, most agents forget a lot between sessions. Memory is what lets your agent remember who you are, what your business does and what it did last week. Learning memory means learning what gets saved, where it gets saved and how the agent pulls it back in. I compared the options in my guide to the best Hermes Agent memory setups.

2. MCP servers

MCP servers are how you plug new tools into your agent. Instead of your agent only being able to read files and run commands, it can talk to other apps and services. This is where agents go from clever to genuinely useful for a business. Start with one MCP server you'd actually use, not ten you saw in a list. My list of the best Hermes Agent tools is a good place to pick from.

3. Multi-agent setups and subagents

One agent doing everything gets messy. Subagents let a main agent hand off a focused job to a helper, then take the result back. Multi-agent setups go further, with different agents owning different jobs. Learn this once a single agent starts getting overloaded, not before.

4. Scheduled jobs

This is the moment agents start working while you sleep. A scheduled job runs a task on a timer: a morning report, a daily content check, a weekly cleanup. Learn how scheduling works in your agent, then move one task you do every day onto a schedule.

5. Browser automation

Giving an agent a browser lets it research, fill in pages and check websites like a person would. It's powerful and it's also where things break most often, so learn it with low-risk jobs first, like research or checking your own pages.

6. Terminal backends and sandboxing

Once your agent runs commands, you need to know where those commands run. Terminal backends decide whether your agent works on your own machine, in a container or on a remote server. Sandboxing keeps a mistake from touching things it shouldn't. This is the least exciting topic on the list and one of the most important.

7. Evaluating models

The model behind your agent changes how well it does everything. Advanced users test models on their own tasks instead of trusting hype. That's why I built Goldie Bench, to compare models on the kind of real agent jobs my audience actually runs. Learn to run the same task across two or three models and compare the results yourself.

Inside the AI Profit Boardroom ($69/mo) there are full courses on Hermes Agent, Claude Code, Grok Bot, DeepSeek Harness, Jev and building an agentic operating system, plus a beginner-to-expert roadmap that covers all seven of these.

Where to Keep Learning About AI Agents

You don't need fifty sources. You need a few good ones you actually check. Here's what I'd use:

ResourceWhat you learnCost
Hermes Agent official docsThe best reference for how the open-source Hermes Agent works, feature by featureFree
Julian Goldie SEO on YouTubeDaily AI agent tutorials on new tools, updates and real use casesFree
GitHub awesome listsCommunity-collected lists of agent tools, MCP servers and projects to exploreFree
AI Money LabFREE AI Course + Community + 1,000 AI Agents, plus other people learning alongside youFree
AI Profit BoardroomFull courses, the Agent OS zip, daily updates, 4 live coaching calls a week and DMs with me$69/mo

The docs tell you what a tool can do. Videos show you how to use it. Communities help when you're stuck on something specific. You want all three.

If you'd rather have someone map out where agents fit in your business first, book a free AI strategy session and we'll work out what's worth building.

A Weekly Learning Routine That Actually Works

The people who get good at agents aren't the ones who binge a course in a weekend. They're the ones who show up a little every week and build. Here's a simple routine:

  1. Monday: pick one topic. Choose one item from the advanced list above. Just one.
  2. Tuesday: read the docs. Spend 30 minutes on the official docs for that feature so you know what it can do.
  3. Wednesday: watch one tutorial. See someone use it on a real task.
  4. Thursday: build it. Ask your AI agent to set it up for you. Paste a prompt like "Set up a scheduled job that sends me a summary of X every morning." Let the agent do the config work.
  5. Friday: use it for real. Give the new feature a real job from your business.
  6. Weekend: save it. If it worked, turn it into a skill so you never have to set it up again.

That's one new advanced skill a week. In a couple of months you'll be ahead of most people who've been "learning AI" for a year.

Notice step 4. Don't hand-edit config files if you can avoid it. Ask your agent to do it. That's the whole point of having one.

How to Stay Current When Tools Change Every Week

AI agent tools change constantly. New models drop. Features get added. Things that worked last month get replaced. Here's how to keep up without burning out:

If you want to see how all of these pieces fit together into one system, read my Agent OS guide. Agent OS is my agentic operating system, with Hermes and other agents running with memory, skills, tools, missions and a dashboard. It's the end point most of these advanced topics lead to.

Agent OS is only available inside the AI Profit Boardroom, along with daily updates so you're never learning something that's already out of date.

FAQ

What should I learn after the basics of AI agents?

Learn memory, MCP servers, subagents, scheduled jobs, browser automation, sandboxing and model evaluation, in roughly that order. Build each one into an agent you already use before moving on to the next.

Do I need to know how to code to go deeper with AI agents?

Not much. Most of the advanced setup can be done by asking your AI agent to do it for you. Knowing how to read what it did helps, but you don't need to write code from scratch to use advanced features.

How long does it take to get advanced with AI agents?

About two months, if you build steadily. If you learn and use one new feature a week, you will cover the main advanced topics in roughly eight weeks.

Where can I get help when I get stuck?

Communities are the fastest way to get unstuck. The free AI Money Lab is a good start. If you want live coaching calls and direct help, that's what the AI Profit Boardroom is for. You can also book a free AI strategy session to plan what to build next.

That's how to learn more about AI agents once you're past the basics: one advanced topic a week, built into a real agent, used on a real job.
