Grok Bot shopping lets a Bot find products, show them as cards, and start an order you approve with Buy now, then track it until it arrives. To set it up, open Settings, Vault, Payments, connect a wallet such as Shop Pay, Link or X Money, and pick the method you want Bots to use first. The shopping cards arrived in v0.78.1 on 27 October 2026.

This guide starts with setup, then covers what the cards show, how orders and tracking work, the three subscription templates, Order Concierge and Deal Watcher, and the safety settings you should check before a Bot spends anything.
How to set up Grok Bot shopping
Five steps, all from the Vault.
- Open Settings, then Vault. The Vault docs say it holds logins, cards and contact info so Bots can sign in and check out for you.
- Go to the Payments tab. v0.77.0 (26 October 2026) added it so you can pick the payment method Bots use first.
- Connect a wallet. Shop Pay connects in the Payments tab (v0.78.1). X Money connects in one tap (v0.75.2, 22 October 2026). Link has been in place since v0.30.0 on 28 August 2026.
- Set your default. Pick a wallet in Pay with, or make it the method Bots use first.
- Add contact info. Your address fills in at checkout, so the Bot doesn't stop to ask.
Then ask for something: "Find me a standing desk under my budget with good reviews." The Bot comes back with cards.
One setup choice matters more than the rest, and it's covered in the safety section below: whether to save a card in the Vault at all.

What the shopping cards show
The v0.78.1 notes describe each product card:
- Photos you can swipe through
- Rating, price and store
- Up to two badges, such as Top rated
- Three or four results in a carousel you scroll
Open a product and its page lists in-stock options first. Options no store has are greyed out. Buy now starts an order, and nothing goes through until you approve it.
The Bot has help with big sites too. v0.59.0 (25 September 2026) added built-in guides for popular travel, food, shopping and shipping sites.

Payment methods compared
Here is what the changelog and docs say about each way a Bot can pay.
| Method | How the Bot pays | Version | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Shop Pay | Shop checkout where the store takes it, a one-time Shop card elsewhere | v0.75.2, Payments tab in v0.78.1 | Connect in Vault, Payments |
| Link | A one-time card for one purchase, approved by you | v0.30.0, wallet picker in v0.33.0 | One-time cards only in the US and Canada (v0.77.0) |
| X Money | Connected wallet | v0.75.2 | One-tap connect |
| Card in chat | Card details or a photo you send, missing fields in a Secure Form | v0.71.2 | Used for that checkout |
| Store connector | That connector's own payment options | v0.78.1 | Applies to orders placed through a store's connector |
v0.77.0 says the Bot pays in a set order. The Vault docs say the Default payment method is the one it tries first.
Buy now, approvals and order tracking
The approval step goes back to v0.30.0. When the Bot wants to buy, a card shows the amount and you choose Allow or Deny. With Link, the docs say the request shows the merchant, the items and the total, and nothing is charged if you decline or the request expires.
v0.35.0 (2 September 2026) cleaned up the states. Declined purchases stay Declined. Unanswered ones are marked Expired.
After the order, v0.78.1 has the Bot track it and tell you when it ships and when it arrives. Shipment cards show the carrier and the stage. Order cards also drop the Ship to line for orders that ship nothing, like a digital download.

Subscription templates
v0.78.1 added three ready-made templates for subscriptions:
Try it, don't pay for it
The Bot starts a free trial for you, then cancels it or reminds you before it bills. Good for testing software without a surprise charge.
Find unused subscriptions
The Bot finds plans you're paying for and cancels the ones you pick. You choose. It doesn't cancel on its own.
Watch subscription prices
The Bot checks renewal prices so you see an increase before it lands.
Behind all three, v0.78.1 says Bots can cancel a subscription or look up its price and renewal date, and confirm with you before changing anything.
Order Concierge and Deal Watcher
These two templates came a day earlier, in v0.77.0.
- Order Concierge tracks orders, refunds and returns.
- Deal Watcher watches prices and coupons.
xAI says neither one buys without your OK. v0.77.0 adds one more detail worth knowing: asked what happens if an order goes wrong, the Bot cites only protections it has read and doesn't promise refunds.
The same release made saved logins and cards fill more reliably, including on Shopify checkouts. For a small shop owner, Deal Watcher on supplier sites and Order Concierge on stock orders are the obvious first tests.
Safety: what to check before a Bot spends
The changelog stresses approval. v0.77.0 says "you still approve every purchase" when you set a payment method. v0.70.2 (11 October 2026) says before any action it can't undo, like buying, a Bot checks your own messages for approval.
The Vault docs add an important catch. A card saved in the Vault "fills in at checkout without asking you each time." If you want to approve every payment yourself:
- When a Bot asks for a card in a Secure Form, leave Securely save to Bot's vault unchecked. The card is used only in that chat.
- If you already saved a card, open Settings, Vault, select it and choose Remove.
- Prefer Link one-time cards, which ask you to approve each purchase.
Secure Forms matter here too. Since v0.68.1 (7 October 2026), checkout card fields get a Secure Form that fills into the page instead of a screen handoff. Since v0.71.2, the Bot asks only for missing fields or a verification code in that form. The docs say a Bot never sees a saved card number or security code.
The Bot's browser also works carefully. v0.78.1 says it types one character at a time and moves the mouse on every site it fills in. Our Grok Bot computer use guide covers how that cloud computer works.
Grok Bot shopping vs an open agent
Grok Bot's shopping flow is built tight around its own Vault and wallets. If you want one agent that runs your purchasing, admin and content on your own setup, Hermes Agent is the open route. Our Grok Bot vs Hermes comparison lays out the trade, and Meta Muse vs Grok Bot covers another rival assistant.
The Agent OS guide shows how to run Hermes as a full business system. The Goldie Bench shows which models hold up on long agent tasks. And the AI Profit Boardroom gives you the walkthroughs and coaching to set it up.
FAQ
Does Grok Bot buy things without asking?
The changelog says Buy now starts an order you approve, and the shopping templates never buy without your OK. The Vault docs warn that a saved card can fill at checkout without asking each time, so leave cards unsaved if you want to approve every payment.
Can Grok Bot pay with Shop Pay?
Yes. Since v0.75.2, Bots pay with Shop Pay at Shop checkout where a store accepts it, or with a one-time Shop card elsewhere. Since v0.78.1 you connect it in the Vault's Payments tab.
Can Grok Bot cancel my subscriptions?
Yes, with your say-so. The Find unused subscriptions template cancels the plans you pick, and Bots confirm with you before changing anything.
Do Link one-time cards work outside the US?
Not yet. v0.77.0 says Link one-time cards work only in the US and Canada.
