Telegram integration where OpenClaw's setup is mature. Discord integration where it beats Agent Zero's channel story. Custom plugins through the deeper plugin ecosystem. Long-running customised pipelines that need very specific workflow logic. Specific OpenClaw skills that don't have Agent Zero equivalents.

Follow Build Your Own OpenClaw. 10-30 minutes setup.

Step 3 — Configure each separately

Daily quick tasks (90% of "do this thing for me" requests) go to Agent Zero. Daily customer messages including Telegram, Discord, and email automation go to OpenClaw. Side projects (quick prototypes, experiments) go to Agent Zero. Production pipelines (long-running customised workflows) go to OpenClaw. Image and multimedia generation goes to Agent Zero. Channel-specific automation (WhatsApp, Telegram, Discord agents) goes to OpenClaw.

What running both looks like.

At 7am I check overnight — OpenClaw handled customer Telegram messages and Agent Zero handled scheduled side projects. At 8am I plan the day with Agent Zero for a quick task list. At 10am Agent Zero builds blog drafts and OpenClaw posts to channels. At noon OpenClaw handles inbound customer support while Agent Zero drafts responses for review. At 2pm Agent Zero builds prototypes for side projects. At 4pm OpenClaw runs scheduled production pipelines. At 6pm Agent Zero summarises both tools' work for end-of-day review.

Both serve roles throughout the day.

What If One Fails
