Claude Obsidian Setup: Generate 5 YouTube Scripts From A Notes Folder

A week of YouTube scripting.

Done in ten minutes.

I'm not exaggerating.

This one Claude Obsidian setup has saved me more time than every other tool combined.

The Content Creation Problem Everyone Has

You've got ideas everywhere.

Notes app.

Voice memos.

Screenshots.

Random tweets you saved.

Half-written drafts in Google Docs.

None of it becomes content.

You sit down to write a YouTube script and your brain goes blank.

Meanwhile the folder full of gold is just sitting there.

This is the exact problem my Claude Obsidian setup solves.

The Automation In One Sentence

Drop every idea into one folder.

Point Claude Code at it.

Get 5 YouTube scripts out.

That's the whole trick.

Let me show you how.

The Exact Claude Obsidian Setup For Content

Step 1: Download Obsidian

Go to obsidian.md.

Download.

Free.

Step 2: Make A Vault Called "Content Brain"

A vault is just a folder.

Call it whatever.

Mine's called "content brain".

Step 3: Make Three Folders Inside

"Ideas"

"Research"

"Scripts"

That's your whole system.

Step 4: Install Claude Code

One terminal command.

Point it at your vault.

Done.

Step 5: Dump Everything

Every idea.

Every screenshot of a tweet you loved.

Every YouTube video transcript you want to reference.

Every note from a book or podcast.

Into the right folder.

Don't organise.

Just get it in.

The Five Script Prompt That Changed My Content Game

Here's what I run every Monday.

"Read every file in the ideas and research folders. Pick the five strongest angles for a YouTube video based on what will get the most views. Write a full script for each one. Use my style from the scripts folder. Use punchy hooks. Each script 1500 words. Save each as a new file in the scripts folder."

Then I go make a coffee.

Come back.

Five scripts sitting in my scripts folder.

Done.

Why This Beats Every Other Content Tool

ChatGPT doesn't know your ideas.

Jasper doesn't know your voice.

Copy.ai doesn't know your audience.

They all start from zero every time.

Claude Obsidian knows everything you've ever saved.

Every past script.

Every hook that worked.

Every idea you've ever had.

It's like hiring a scriptwriter who's read your entire brain.

The Content Automation Stack

Here's my full automation flow.

Morning: Capture

See an interesting tweet?

Screenshot it, drop it in the ideas folder.

Watch a YouTube video?

Paste the transcript in the research folder.

Have a shower thought?

Voice memo it, drop the transcript in.

All day.

Zero effort.

Monday: Generate

Run the five script prompt.

Five scripts written.

Tuesday: Refine

Review the scripts.

Tell Claude what to tweak.

"Make script 3 punchier. Cut the intro on script 1. Add a stronger CTA to script 5."

Done in 20 minutes.

Wednesday: Film

Scripts are ready.

Film all five in one session.

Batch content for the next two weeks.

Thursday: Repurpose

"Take the five scripts. Turn each into a Twitter thread, a LinkedIn post, and an Instagram reel script."

More content.

Same effort.

The Mistake Most Creators Make

They try to automate before they have raw material.

Doesn't work.

The magic comes from the stockpile.

100 notes in your vault means Claude has 100 things to pull from.

10 notes means 10 things.

Stockpile first.

Automate second.

Spend the first two weeks just dumping.

Then unleash Claude.

The Exact Prompts I Run

Here's the top three I use weekly.

The Idea Extractor

"Go through the research folder. Pull out every actionable insight. Write each one as a hook. Save in the ideas folder with a note about which video it'd work for."

The Script Machine

"Take the five strongest ideas from the ideas folder. Write a full YouTube script for each using my style from the scripts folder. 1500 words each. Punchy hooks. Clear CTAs."

The Repurposer

"Take every script from the last month. Pull the five strongest points from each. Turn them into Twitter threads, LinkedIn posts, and Instagram captions."

Three prompts.

Weeks of content.

The Numbers Don't Lie

Before this setup.

One script took me four hours.

Five scripts took me a full day.

After this setup.

Five scripts take ten minutes of Claude time.

Maybe 30 minutes of my time reviewing.

From one day to 40 minutes.

That's 10x on the same output.

What To Do Today

FAQ

Can Claude really match my writing style?

Yes. Dump 10-20 of your past scripts in a folder. Tell Claude to match the style. The results are scary.

How many notes do I need before this works?

50 is the minimum for good results. 200+ and it gets unreal.

Does this only work for YouTube?

No. Blog posts, podcasts, Twitter threads, email newsletters. Same setup works for all of them.

Can it write scripts in other languages?

Yes. Claude handles most major languages fine.

How long does Claude take to generate 5 scripts?

Around 10 minutes for 5 scripts at 1500 words each. Depends on vault size.

Do I need to edit the scripts?

Usually yes, but light edits. I tweak 10-15% of each script. The bones are always solid.
